Principal's Message
Dear Mariner Families,
I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you at the start of this new school year. As the Principal of GVJH, it is my privilege and honor to lead this amazing learning community.
At Goleta Valley Junior High School, our commitment to our mission of SAIL (Safety, Accountability, Inclusion and Learning for All) is unwavering. We strive to create a school culture that truly nurtures the unique potential of each student. Our goal is to empower every Mariner student to become compassionate, confident and responsible global citizens. Our mission of SAIL is at the heart of everything we do and is our guiding principle in the pursuit of academic excellence, character development and fostering lifelong learners.
The entire Mariner staff is committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive community that celebrates the richness of different perspectives and backgrounds. We believe that through collaboration and mutual respect, we can create a supportive atmosphere where students feel known, valued and inspired to explore their passions.
We are committed to providing a challenging and comprehensive curriculum that fosters critical thinking, problem solving skills, communication skills and productive collaboration. Our goal is not only to prepare students for academic success, but also to equip them with the tools to navigate an ever-changing world and make meaningful contributions to society.
At Goleta Valley JH, we believe education is a collaborative effort. As we embark on this new school year, I invite all Mariner families to join us in embracing our mission of SAIL. Together we can shape a transformative educational experience for our students.
I encourage you to reach out to teachers, staff or me with any questions, concerns or ideas you may have. I value open communication and believe in the power of collaboration to create a positive and thriving school environment.
Thank you for entrusting your student to us. I look forward to the year ahead.
Go Mariners!!
