Our Program

We have a vibrant Performing Arts program that will take you from your current level (whether beginner or experienced performer) and offer you individualized instruction in singing, acting, dance, and technical theatre.

Students collaborate daily through games, exercises, and full-scale productions that help build self-confidence, allow for self-expression and creativity, and offer the opportunity to develop many transferable life-skills including critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-reflection.

We are a close-knit group of "flexible, aware, creative, and encouraging" actors, singers, dancers, and theatre technicians who provide support for each other in and out of theatre class. We are a community!

7th/8th grade offerings for 2025-2026:

Theatre 1: Seventh grade students develop their acting, singing, and dance skills through collaborative games, scene work, and full-scale performances. In this year-long class, students receive the Health curriculum (Ms. Ross recently obtained her Health credential and is happy to be teaching this content within the Theatre class!)

Theatre 2: Eighth grade students engage in deeper study of vocal technique, dance, and acting. The class performs "got Broadway" in the fall and a class musical in the spring semester.

Stagecraft (August - December): This class meets 7th period. Students learn the fundamentals of technical theatre -- including costuming, lighting, sound, set and prop design. They support GV's theatre productions as crew.

Play Production (January - April): Students audition to be part of the cast or apply to be on the crew for the spring All-School musical. E-mail Ms. Ross for more information.

Chorus: Chorus is by audition, and currently meets after school once a week. E-mail Ms. Ross for more information.

All-School Musical

Each year, GV Theatre produces a full-length musical with live orchestra. Rehearsals take place after school - Monday through Friday from 3:00-5:30. Auditions are in January and performances are in mid-April. Any GV student may audition to be part of the cast.
